Feasting along the Cotes d'Azur
Villa de Lys - Part 3 Voici les Desserts ! "Pre-dessert". A meal like this can't just have desserts. No, it needs a pre-dessert, sort of like an amuse bouche to tease the palette with something sweet.
Marinated raisin crumble with fig sherbet ![]()
Strawberries from the woods and chilled fromage blanc
Crispy fondant of chocolate with chocolate ice-cream on the side
Chilled chocolates, friandises and butter
madeleines. The last chocolate is always the one too much. To our credit, we
didn't manage to polish away everything shown here. ![]() The sherbet to close the meal and actually the 19th course !
The first evening ends A bombastic, deliciously cooked and incredibly varied dining experience!, fine wines, a warm and friendly staff and above all, excellent company provided by Lord and Lady Arran made this a most memorable evening which was concluded by a welcome stroll back to my hotel, a last glass of mineral water and five minutes of a very silly French TV show.
