Feasting along the Cotes d'Azur
L'Oasis - Part 3 Cheese and desserts L'Orient: Nougat of goat cheese, candied cumquats and pistachios with chutney
La Mediteranee: Melon and "Brousse de Brebis" with
peppered mint
Selection of cakes and tartes for dessert.
A most satisfied Lord Arran contemplating which of the friandises was next. Me on the other side, breaking down for a second time that evening and ordering a cognac with my espresso.
Surprise Pear sherbet with meringue top to end the meal
The second evening ends Far fewer courses but generally the more elaborate dishes than the night before made up for another enjoyable and very satisfying meal. Service was very efficient and friendly but maybe a tad cooler than at the Villa de Lys. In any case, both restaurants are highly worthy of a visit and I'd again like to thank Lord and Lady Arran for organizing this wondrous weekend and their most enjoyable company. Hans Zbinden
